Saurabh Tiwary Biography
Talent and looks do go hand in hand sometimes. If in doubt ask Saurabh Tiwary! Aping India’s ‘captain cool’ MS Dhoni - his fellow Jharkhand mate - Tiwary grabbed eyeballs for more reasons than his Dhoni-esque appearance with a good stint in IPL 3.

Tiwary, who started playing at the age of 11, made his first-class debut for Jharkhand in the 2006-07 season and was a key member of the Indian squad which won the 2008 Under-19 WC. Though he made his IPL debut in 2008, IPL 3 shot him into the limelight when he struck three half centuries and cemented his place in the middle-order. Selected for the 2010 Asia Cup, the youngster unfortunately didn’t make his debut but the selectors regarded him as one for the future nonetheless. With strong power hitting, the left-hander has the added asset of floating across the batting order. He faces tough competition from several upcoming youngsters in the one-day format, though.

Saurabh Tiwary was the leading run-getter in the 2007-08 Deodhar Trophy.
He was the Under-23 ‘Player of the Tournament’ in the 2010 IPL.
Tiwary was the third highest run-getter in the 2009-10 Ranji Trophy Plate League scoring 593 runs in just 5 matches at an average of 98.83, which included 3 centuries.
