Farveez Maharoof

Farveez Maharoof Biography
Farveez Maharoof is a gifted young all-rounder from Sri Lanka. He is a tall, lanky and an open-chest fast bowler who first made an impact at the U-19 level. Sri Lanka's selectors amazed by his performances as under-19 captain, fast-tracked him into the national squad for the Zimbabwe tour as a move to look towards the future. He has worked his way up through the ranks to get where he has today, playing for Sri Lanka under-15, under-17 and under-19, and led the under-19 team on four tours, including the 2004 Youth World Cup in Bangladesh.

His nagging persistence around the off stump line with the ability to move the ball makes him a dangerous bowler to face. The tall right-hander has a sound batting technique which helps him to adapt in different batting situations. Maharoof is also capable of hitting some lusty blows down the order.

He needs to deliver consistently on the big stage to be a permanent fixture in the both – the Test and ODI teams. With some much potential, the all-rounder is one to watch out for in future.
